Baby Won\’t You Let Me Rock N Roll You

Demo Cd done

We went into the studio the second week of July and recorded 4 tracks to use as our next demo CD.

We recorded:

  1. “Baby won’t you let me Rock & Roll you” by 10 Years After,
  2. “Little by Little”, from Jr. Wells,
  3. “Can’t find my way back home” by Blind Faith,
  4. Thank God it’s Friday” an original written by Rev. Ron Wright.

The recording took a total of 10 hours from start to finished product. The bands was VERY happy with the results. You can hear them at our MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/universalslimtheblueskangaroos

We also played another show with our friends the “R & B’s at one of our favorite places to play… Bungalow Joe’s in Hanover Park. We followed up that show with another gig for PADS shelter in Elgin. We played their bike run.It was a beautiful night.

We’d Like to once again thank Deb & “Curly” John for another great time at the 8th annual “Garagefest“. Boy was that show hot. great food & people. Something always happens when I (Slim) leave…sorry to Carol for scrapping her car….oopps!

First Gig with the “New” Blues Kangaroos

I’m happy to report that our first gig as the New Blues Kangaroos went great. Many Thanks to our Host of the 9th annual garagefest, John and Deb & congratulation on your 25th anniversary. The food was great and so were the guest. The weather was excellent. We jammed our collective asses off. We had a few glitches, but the months of practices are really paying off. I’d like to thank everyone who was there for making us feel comfortable.

June 12, 2007

Well, after an exhausting 2 month search I have finally selected the members for the “New Blues Kangaroos”. They are Scott Tyrcha on Drums/vocals,Ron Wright on Bass/vocals, & Rich Potter on Lead guitar/vocals. I’m very excited to have this new band as they have re-energized me with new songs & we’ve re-invented some old favorites of mine. Scott & Ron are former members of “Old Dogs/New Trix” & all 3 played together as members of the “Ellis Potter band” Each brings many years of live playing experience. I would also like to thank the many other bands & musicians that contacted me regarding playing & auditions. You were all great & it was a very difficult decision to choose. I would also like to wish good luck to my former bandmates, Hannah, Danny, B, & Dave…as the have formed the “Hannah Ford Band” & are currently out gigging.

May 7, 2007

I’d like to thank the many people that have supported the band these last years. As you know we played our last show on May 5th at the Carpentersville Moose Lodge 1st annual Bike Blessing. It was a great show …thanks to those who attended. It was bittersweet/strange to play with my band mates for the last time….I wish the “Hannah Ford Band” good luck. Look for a New & Improved Blues Kangaroos band soon. I’m currently auditioning guitar players, as I’ve believe that I’ve found my Bass player & Drummer. We will be playing the same kind of music that you’ve come to expect from me…Blues based Rock & Southern Rock classics. Check back for updates & new shows as there will be no slowing me down. Peace, Bob “Slim” Rader
